Spook Teaching's one-day workshops are designed to offer a fresh concept for teaching literacy in the classroom. Workshops are delivered in character by one of our specialist educators, and each session covers a specific literacy theme.
By delivering workshop sessions through drama we aim to inspire children to write with enthusiasm and trigger their creativity while having fun.

Spook’s Young Writer’s Workshop
The Spook’s workshop is our concept offering where our Spook of the county brings the fascinating world of Spooks, Witches and Bogarts to the classroom. Schools can choose from 11 different literacy sessions full of drama, and fun, with a few scares along the way!
Witch’s Young Writer’s and Young Actor’s Workshop
The Witch’s workshop is a spellbinding experience where our Witch brings her spell book into the classroom to teach her secrets to the children. Also themed on the Spooks World, the Witch’s workshop covers both literacy and drama themes, delivered by an experienced actress and educator. Choose your mixture of literacy and drama from 9 sessions.
Ghosts of the Titanic Young Writer’s Workshop
New for 2016, the Ghosts of the Titanic workshop offers an enthralling journey back in time to a dramatic night on the ill-fated ship. The Captain arrives in the classroom to welcome the children on board, and re-tell the Titanic’s maiden voyage, supported by our fantastic video footage. Thrills and spills are guaranteed as children get immersed in the Titanic narrative. 5 different sessions delivered by The Captain. Suitable for both classes that have studied the subject and also newcomers!
Scrooge’s Ghosts Young Writer’s Workshop
New for 2016, the Scrooge’s Ghosts workshop is a festive literacy treat, as the miserable Ebenezer Scrooge comes to the classroom to wish everyone a Bah Humbug. But during the day four Ghosts come to haunt poor old Scrooge (via video footage!) to make him see the error of his ways. True to the gothic novel A Christmas Carol, the workshop offers 5 very different literacy sessions for the children to get immersed in the most famous Christmas ghost story!
